Democratic health leaders introduce bill to strengthen Medicare
Last week, Democratic Congressional leaders on Medicare issues introduced the Medicare Affordability and Enrollment Act (S 3371, HR 6109) which, among other things, would cap out-of-pocket spending, significantly improve Medicare low-income protections, and make permanent funding for low-income outreach and enrollment activities. Lead by the ranking members of the three committees with Medicare jurisdiction, Sen. Wyden (OR) and Reps. Levin (MI) and Pallone (NJ), along with input and support from NCOA and other beneficiary advocacy groups, the bill includes a range of important improvements that we hope can gain wide support in Congress next year.See a one-page summary | See a section-by-section summary
